Project:
Emergency Administration and Management Academy (EAMA) Development. The academy will serve as a research, training and development component of the Arkansas Tech University (ATU) degree program in Emergency administration and Management. Key elements of EAMA are the Emergency Operations Center and the Campus Emergency Operations Plan.

Emergency Operations Center Room 102, Dean Hall Arkansas Tech University
Start Date and Schedule:
This announcement is for two 400 hour internships for the Spring, 2006 semester. The work may begin anytime after January 17, 2006, but the 400 hours must be completed by May 1, 2006. The intern will register for EAM 4106 in Spring, 2006, to receive their internship credit.
Compensation:
Interns will be paid the student work rate of $5.15 per hour.
Internship Description:
This is a paid internship to assist in developing the campus wide Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) for ATU. The ATU Emergency Preparedness Task Force is providing input and guidance for the EOP. The intern will research information provided by Task Force members and will meet with other campus and community personnel to collect additional information on campus hazards and response capabilities and processes. The intern will also develop assigned sections of the EOP using the format specified by the Task Force. The Intern will work under direct supervision of an Emergency Administration and Management staff member.
Skills and Experience Required:
This opportunity is open to ATU EAM majors who are eligible to register for EAM 4106 concurrent with the period of the internship. Other factors that will be considered in selection of the individual for this internship include: • The applicant’s academic record and accomplishments • Specific academic and work experience in planning and/or Emergency Operations Planning • 100 word statement on why the applicant is interested in this specific internship opportunity (to be included in the application)
